My World

The world that I would like to see
Contains the soul of poetry.

Look deep within to find the roots
To judge a tree, just taste its fruits.

If mankind would but disapprove
All the guns would be removed.
The children would all laugh and play
No guns would steal their lives away.

In my world we would all be free-
Rejoicing in our unity.
Another fruit that would cast its seed
Is when our words equal our deeds.

May man be judged by what he knows
Let poetry stand next to prose.
With pen in hand I now shall draw -
A world that has no need for law.

No one will experience the hunger
Or want to change by looking younger.
No one shall feel unloved or flawed
For every soul is part of God.
