Harmless Thoughts

I am a very practical person.

    I play games of chance.

    Weekly I buy a ticket for the lottery.

To find meaning, and otherwise enhance

    My day-to-day activities

    Of writing e-mail message

And all the books that I read –

    Anything to keep my mind away

    From where it does not belong –

Find other, harmless thoughts instead.

    For I am very practical

    And think quite logically.

Other options don’t exist that I can do.

    So I spend my days filled with TV,

    And my nights watching movies –

Otherwise, all my thoughts would be of you.
